NECTA Organizes Awareness Seminar On GST

NECTA ( North East Computer Traders Association) recently organized an awareness seminar on GST to educate the members on the new tax regime. The seminar sponsored by HP and supported by Techno Trades, was held in a city restaurant in Guwahati.
Mrs Raginee Goyal , well-known Chartered Accountant of Guwahati was the speaker of the seminar. In her keynote session, Mrs. Raginee Goyal gave valuable insights into the GST tax regime and also cleared doubts of the members touching upon minute but crucial components of GST. She also cleared various misconceptions of people in terms of stock clearance, service tax, input credit and tax computation. Mrs Goyal also explained the format of invoice with GST bifurcations.
“This seminar was a part of our effort to educate our members and make them GST ready. If required we would be glad to organize a few more such seminars on GST, after the tax regime is rolled out” said Trideep Talukdar, president of NECTA.
The seminar also featured a presentation of the updated version of GST compliant Release 6 of TALLY ERP 9. Data Crown Computers, one of Northeast foremost partner in Tally Solutions gave the presentation. The Tally presentation was articulate and cleared many doubts of the members for the smooth migration to the new tax regime.
The seminar received an overwhelming response from NECTA members and over 80 members marked their presence in the event.

The GST seminar organized by NECTA was a follow up to their AGM which was held in the month of May. Apart from various other issues, plans were also chalked out to organize this seminar.
In the AGM, Amitabh Bhattacharjee, NECTA member and a prominent BJP worker, gave a presentation on the features and benefits of Cashless Transactions.
